What is lime wash?
Limewash is one of the oldest paints in the world — slaked lime thinned with water and tinted with natural mineral pigment. Brushed on in loose, overlapping layers, it dries to a chalky matte finish with gentle cloudy movement and a depth that flat latex paint cannot imitate. It is the signature look of rustic European farmhouses and, increasingly, of warm modern interiors.
