What is Tadelakt?
Tadelakt is a centuries-old Moroccan finish made from lime plaster that is compressed and polished with a smooth stone, then treated with a natural olive-oil soap (savon noir). The soap reacts with the lime to form a water-repellent, seamless surface that has been used in Moroccan hammams and bathhouses for generations.
The result is a sensual, hand-burnished surface with soft, organic movement and a subtle glow — and, crucially, one that is genuinely waterproof without a single grout line. For a shower or wet room that feels like a boutique spa, nothing else compares.

Yes. The reaction between slaked lime and olive-oil soap creates a naturally water-repellent surface that has been used in Moroccan steam baths for centuries. Applied and cured correctly it is fully suited to showers and wet rooms — with no grout and no tile.
How do you maintain a Tadelakt shower?
It is low-maintenance: squeegee after use and periodically re-treat with a coat of natural soap to refresh the water repellency. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners, which can etch lime.
